Monmouth Golf Club
Monmouth is one of those golf courses that is both pleasing on the eye and an absolute delight to play, regardless of your capabilities as a golfer. It is one of Monmouthshire's best-kept courses and has been on the go since 1896, whish also makes it one of the oldest. Until 1992, however, it was a nine-hole course - at that time it was extended along with the building of a new clubhouse.
There is so much to contend with during your round; cleverly designed doglegs, the odd water hazard here and there, sand traps when you least expect it and hard-to-hit elevated greens. The eighth hole, Cresta Run, was recently included in Britains 100 most extraordinary golf holes, which also nominated Monmouth as having the best value green fees in the country.
The friendly and welcoming staff offer full catering and bar facilities in the clubhouse, which boasts stunning views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Monmouth Golf Club is well known for the friendly welcome offered to visitors by members and staff alike.
