The Course

Hole 1 - Par 5 - Yardage 489 - S/I 9
Out of bounds on the right and trees both large and small on both sides of the fairway. A drive and a fairway wood should get you within chipping distance of the green which is guarded by a bunker on the left hand side of the green and some mounds on the right.

Hole 2 - Par 4 - Yardage 435 - S/I 1
Longer hitters beware of the ditch which runs right across the fairway and the pond which is on the right hand side of the ditch. A drive and a medium or long iron usually sees the ball on or close to the green. The green itself is guarded by a large bunker on the left and grass mounds on the left and at the rear.

Hole 3 - Par 4 - Yardage 359 - S/I 4
There are no bunkers on this hole but some subtle mounding on both sides of the green and the natural slope of the green from right to left makes this hole a little more difficult than it at first appears.

Hole 4 - Par 3 - Yardage 151 - S/I 13
Standing on the tee the golfer is faced with driving over a steep, wooded valley with two large, deep bunkers guarding the front of the green.

Hole 5 - Par 4 - Yardage 321 - S/I 7
A good drive will put you in reach of the green with a mid iron. The green is guarded by a large bunker on the left and grass mounds on both sides.

Hole 6 - Par 3 - Yardage 148 - S/I 17
There is a deep valley in front of the green with a stream running at the bottom of it. Club selection is important and any mis-hit shot is collected in the valley.

Hole 7 - Par 5 - Yardage 508 - S/I 11
This hole has a slight dog leg to the right and the tee shot has to be played blind. There is a steep bank in front of the green with an even steeper one at the back so you need to think your way through this hole.

Hole 8 - Par 4 - Yardage 389 - S/I 3
Uphill with the first part being a severe slope at the top of which there is a hedge with a narrow opening which will catch the unwary golfer. The green is guarded by two large, deep bunkers on the right and steep slopes down from the green to the back and to the right hand side.

Hole 9 - Par 4 - Yardage 318 - S/I 15
The second shot in will be a short iron to the green, although some of the longer hitters can hit the green with their drive. The green is guarded by one large, deep bunker and one pot bunker, both of them are on the left.

Hole 10 - Par 3 - Yardage 153 - S/I 16
A short Par 3 hole with the fairway sloping from right to left. A shallow large bunker is waiting on the left of the green to swallow up any wayward shots.

Hole 11 - Par 4 - Yardage 353 - S/I 4
A good drive should take the golfer well past the 150 yard marker (unless the wind is blowing) leaving a mid iron shot to the green. The green itself is flat and fairly large. There is a narrow lead in to the green which is flanked on the right with a steep slope down to the green and guarded by three pot bunkers.

Hole 12 - Par 3 - Yardage 159 - S/I 10
The views from this point are without doubt spectacular. A relatively benign hole with a level green and slopes off to the right into a shallow, large bunker.

Hole 13 - Par 4 - Yardage 401 - S/I 8
A very slight dog leg to the left with a wide fairway which is guarded on both sides by conifer trees. If the ball catches the slope in front of the green your shot will usually end up over the back of it.

Hole 14 - Par 4 - Yardage 323 - S/I 6
A very interesting par 4 which has a sharp (90 Degree) dog leg to the right. It is best to make the drive off the tee and get the ball into the centre of the fairway by the gap where the dog leg turns. The second shot is then relatively straight forward with a medium to long iron.

Hole 15 - Par 4 - Yardage 386 - S/I 2
A left hand dog leg with a fairly wide fairway. A good drive will leave the golfer with a fairway wood over the trees on top of the bank to the green. The green has a pot bunker to the front right and slopes down off the green to the right and back of the green.

Hole 16 - Par 3 - Yardage 140 - S/I 18
A short hole which is made rather daunting by the elevation of the tee in relationship to the green. There is also a very deep ravine with wooded sides between the tee and the green. If this wasn't enough there are two cavernous bunkers in front of the green waiting to swallow up the ball of the timid golfer.

Hole 17 - Par 5 - Yardage 505 - S/I 12
Off the tee the golfer needs to make a good drive and keep the ball to the left hand side of the fairway. For the second shot the average golfer will take a fairway wood which should take the ball just short of the fairway bunker. The three bunkers that guard the green and the grass mounds all round the green may deny the golfer that birdie opportunity.

Hole 18 - Par 5 - Yardage 497 - S/I 14
Any ball over the hedge on the right hand side of the fairway is out of bounds. This makes the average golfer aim to the left. Hitting the fairway is a must on this hole to make par. On reaching the green the golfer will find that there are two bunkers on the left hand side of the green with grass mounds to the left, right and back of the green. The entrance to the green is narrow making the running shot to the green more difficult. It is a good finishing hole and will be the topic of many conversations when the 19th hole is reached.
